Sol Naciente was created in 2008 with the goal of uniting competing producers from the Sierra Nevada region. These producers come from two townships: Siberia and San Pedro which are located in the municipality of Ciénaga. The majority of these producers are recognized victims of armed conflict and they are in a program for land restitution. Now that they have regained their land, they decided to put it to good use and produce high-quality organic coffee

I appreciate the very light roast of this bean, but for some reason, it doesn’t have much flavor. The roasting date says “6/26/2025”, and upon smelling the whole beans, there’s no hint of any add’ins from the roasting process (no hint of fruit). Even after brewing a cup via espresso or pour over, there’s no flavor other than simple raw coffee bean. The smell of the beans is very “green” and plain. It seems like the batch that these were roasted in may not have included all the listed note ingredients (the fruits). However, I’ve enjoyed the simplicity of the beans. I just think there’s something missing from the recipe.
